Liv Barnett (b. 2004)
Liv Barnett is a visual storyteller blending photography and videography to capture compelling narratives through still and moving images. Born and raised in the beautiful Cayman Islands, Liv grew up surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, which is both her playground and classroom. A rare kind of childhood full of freedom, barefoot beach exploration and discovery, both above and below the surface. This unique upbringing instilled Liv’s deep appreciation of nature, a strong sense of independence, and an understanding of the impacts of climate change on her home.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Marine and Natural History Photography from Falmouth University, where she developed her technique for storytelling and distinctive visual style.
Her recent project, Microcosm, explores the diverse life thriving within a single rockpool on Castle Beach, Falmouth, UK. Liv hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for the extraordinary life, unseen and often underappreciated, lingering just beyond the edge of our awareness.
Currently based between the UK and the Cayman Islands, Liv is particularly interested in creating images that spark change and inspire others to take action. She is available for commissions, collaborations, and exhibitions.
